The Merrell Mix Master Move Running Shoe's breathable mesh upper is straddled by a series of synthetic leather overlays that intersect the lacing eyelets to deliver a secure, adaptive midfoot lockdown whilst reinforcing the shoe's structural integrity without adding undue weight. As air permeates the shoe's interior, a functional mesh lining wicks excess moisture away from the skin to encourage an environment that is cooler, drier and altogether more pleasant whilst a removable sockliner and M Select FRESH treatment work in concert to eradicate odour carrying bacteria before it has a chance to spread. A reinforced toe rand protects one of the more vulnerable parts of the foot from knocks and abrasions whilst a series of reflective components preserve the wearer's visibility in poor light. The shoe's principle cushioning ability is afforded by a Merrell Float midsole compound that is 10% thinner and 25% lighter than other, comparable cushioning units. Merrell air cushioning in the heel attenuates shockwaves generated during the heelstrike phase of the gait whilst a moulded, nylon arch shank adds torsional stability throughout the midfoot to prevent the shoe from warping and twisting on less even terrain. This sits atop an M Select GRIP outsole that yields a tremendous level of grip and traction on a multitude of surfaces.
